Celebrating Jerusalem Day – Shavei style
The Jewish world is celebrating fifty years since the reunification of Jerusalem in 1967 following the Six-Day War. The day is marked with speeches, parties, music and parades.
Shavei Israel communities have been getting some Jerusalem Day spirit too – and not just in Jerusalem.
Here are some photos of a group of Bnei Menashe youngsters celebrating Jerusalem Day with a decidedly non-Jerusalem backdrop – the Mediterranean Sea. It’s from the Bnei Menashe community that is living in the coastal city of Acre. The sign in Hebrew reads “Celebrating 50 Years of Unity.”
