29 Sep Guide for the High Holidays – in Spanish
Shavei Israel is pleased to present a special guide for the High Holidays in Spanish, especially prepared for the Bnei Anousim*, descendants of Jews who were forcibly converted during the time of the Spanish Inquisition.
The guide includes two special articles on each holiday (Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur and Sukkot), together with the laws of each holiday and special practices and traditions.
For Rosh Hashanah we have a wonderful explanation of how to do the traditional “seder” in which we start the year full of blessings.
The Yom Kippur section has the traditional confession of sins “vidui”, detailed and explained.
For Sukkot the “seder ushpizin” by which we invite a different one of our patriarchs to enter the sukkah each day.
All of material is in Spanish and with phonetic pronunciation. The download is free. We hope it will enhance many people’s holidays!
Shana Tova to all, we are all be inscribed in the book of life, health and livelihoods.

*In recent years, throughout Spain, Portugal, and South America, a growing number of descendants of Bnei Anousim are emerging from the shadows of history, looking to reconnect with the Jewish people and return to the faith which was so cruelly taken away from their forefathers five centuries ago.
