19 Apr Pesach in Poland: Krakow and Lodz
We have pictures from two Polish Jewish communities – Lodz and Krakow – preparing for the Passover holiday.
In Lodz, we have the scene from the traditional burning of the last remaining chametz before the holiday begins, then holding a mock Seder to prepare for Pesach night with the community’s rabbi, Dawid Szychowski.
In Krakow, Shavei Israel emissary Rabbi Avi Baumol led a mock Seder for the community’s children. Photos taken by the Krakow JCC.
Finally, this heartwarming video from Krakow. Rabbi Baumol has been meeting with local Polish Holocaust survivors at the JCC to bring some traditional Pesach spirit. Here the group practices singing Ma Nishtanah in preparation for the Seder.
